Terms & Conditions
Version 3.4
Last updated: September 2026. By using Rover Stopover you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Rover Stopover (the "Service"), operated at roverstopover.com. By creating an account, uploading a boarding pass, or booking a layover tour through the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. About the Service
Rover Stopover connects travelers with a long airport layover in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai International – DXB, Al Maktoum International – DWC, Abu Dhabi International – AUH, and Sharjah International – SHJ) to a curated city tour timed to fit safely within their layover. Your inbound arrival airport and onward departure airport do not need to be the same — the Service supports self-transfer itineraries, for example arriving at Dubai International (DXB) with an onward flight departing from Sharjah International (SHJ). To do this, the Service:
- Reads flight and passenger details from a boarding pass or ticket you upload (image or PDF), using an AI document-processing provider to extract the flight number, dates, and airports — or lets you enter these details manually instead. If you upload a file, it is sent to that provider for one-time processing and is not stored by Rover Stopover; only the resulting flight details (flight number, airports, times, passenger name) are saved to your account.
- Tracks your inbound flight in real time (departure, live position, estimated and actual arrival) using a third-party flight-data provider, so your tour timing can adjust to real delays.
- Lets you select tour stops and calculates a route, distance, and duration between the airport and your selected stops using a mapping/route-optimization provider.
- Processes payment for your booking through a third-party payment processor.
- Requires you to verify your phone number by SMS one-time passcode before a booking can be submitted.
Because several steps of this flow depend on third-party providers (flight data, mapping, AI extraction, payments, SMS), Rover Stopover cannot guarantee that data from these providers (flight times, tour durations, extracted ticket fields) is always instantaneous, complete, or error-free. Always verify your own flight status directly with your airline in addition to relying on the Service.
Before your tour, we will email your assigned driver's name and contact details to the email address on your account. If your assigned driver changes for any reason, we will send you a new email with the updated driver's details. During your tour, we will contact you using whichever contact method you selected when booking.
3. Eligibility & Account Registration
You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You may register with an email and password, or sign in using a supported third-party account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
4. Booking Requirements
- Your layover must provide a minimum connection window of 4 hours between your inbound arrival and your onward departure for a tour to be booked.
- If your inbound arrival airport and onward departure airport are different (a self-transfer itinerary), allow additional time beyond the 4-hour minimum for immigration, baggage collection, and check-in at a separate airport — we recommend planning for at least 6–8 hours of connection time in this case.
- You must submit accurate flight information. Inaccurate flight information may result in a tour that cannot be safely completed, or in delay or cancellation without refund.
- Your available tour window is calculated from your arrival time plus a buffer for airport exit procedures, up to your onward flight's departure time minus a buffer for check-in and security. We reserve the right to shorten a requested tour duration to fit safely within this window.
- Phone number verification (Section 2) must be completed before a booking request can be submitted.
5. Pricing & Payment
Tour pricing is calculated based on requested duration and number of passengers, and shown to you in full before payment is collected. The base price covers the first 2 hours of touring; each additional hour is charged separately. Each additional adult passenger increases the price; children 12 and under travel free on the tour price. All prices are shown in USD.
Payment is processed by a third-party payment processor — Rover Stopover does not receive or store your full card or payment account credentials. Your booking is confirmed only once payment has been successfully processed. By paying you also agree to that processor's own user agreement and privacy terms, available on their website at the time you pay. Note that if a card-funded payment is disputed with the customer's card issuer rather than through the payment processor directly, the card issuer (not Rover Stopover or the payment processor) decides the outcome of that dispute.
Some tour stops offer an optional paid activity with its own venue entrance fee (for example, an observation deck, a guided tour, a waterpark, or a dining/tea/cruise experience). If your booking includes such an activity, only that venue's entrance ticket is included in your tour price — our team reserves the entrance ticket on your behalf and will contact you about it before your tour. Any food, beverages, or restaurant bill at that venue (including for activities described as “dining,” “tea,” or “cruise”) is not included and remains your own responsibility to pay for directly at the venue.
Before your tour begins, our support team will contact you to check whether you need any assistance with visa requirements for your layover, and, if your booking includes a paid venue activity as described above, to confirm and purchase your entrance ticket(s) on your behalf.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
You may request a cancellation and refund from your dashboard. Refunds are calculated based on how much notice you give before your tour's scheduled start time (Dubai local time):
- 72 hours or more before your tour starts: full refund, no cancellation fee.
- 24 to 72 hours before your tour starts: a 20% cancellation fee applies; the remainder is refunded.
- Less than 24 hours before your tour starts (including same-day): a 50% cancellation fee applies; the remainder is refunded.
If your inbound flight itself is cancelled by the airline and this is the reason you can no longer take your tour, you're entitled to a full refund regardless of how much notice you're able to give, subject to us being able to verify the airline cancellation.
If your inbound flight is delayed, your tour may be shortened or otherwise adjusted to fit safely within your remaining layover window. Depending on the extent of the adjustment, part of your payment may be refunded — this is assessed on a case-by-case basis rather than a fixed formula, since the right outcome depends on how the specific tour was affected.
Your booking secures the specific tour duration you selected and paid for, starting from your scheduled tour time. If you arrive late to begin your tour and more than 2 hours of that booked duration still remain, we will still run your tour for the time that's left and refund you the portion of your payment corresponding to the tour time you lost by arriving late. If less than 2 hours of your booked duration would remain by the time you arrive, we will not run the tour and you will receive a full refund instead.
If a refund request relates to a missed pickup, a shortened tour, or a missed onward flight caused by your own failure to respond to contact attempts, see Section 10 — no refund will be given for the affected part of your booking where we can demonstrate this was the case.
Refund requests are reviewed and approved individually; approved refunds are returned to your original payment method. Please note the payment processor's own transaction fee on the original payment is not refunded to Rover Stopover, and this fee may be reflected in the net amount refunded. Refund requests must be submitted through the Service; requests are rate-limited to prevent abuse.
7. Flight Tracking & Third-Party Data Disclaimer
Flight status, position, and arrival estimates shown in the Service are supplied by a third-party flight-tracking data provider and by airline schedule data, and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Rover Stopover is not responsible for flight delays, cancellations, gate changes, or schedule changes made by your airline or airport, and is not liable for any consequence of relying on flight-tracking data shown in the Service instead of your airline's own official communications. It remains your responsibility to monitor your own flight status directly with your airline and to allow adequate time for immigration, security, and boarding at your departure airport, in addition to the buffers built into your tour schedule.
If, on the other hand, our tour itself is the direct cause of you missing your onward flight (for example, the tour ran over its planned schedule due to our own routing or execution, not because of an airline delay or an inaccuracy in third-party flight data), we will arrange a new onward flight for you at no additional cost.
8. Google Maps Platform Services
The Service uses Google Maps Platform (including Google Maps display, place lookup, and route-optimization features) to show maps and calculate tour routes and durations — named specifically here, unlike our other providers, because Google's own terms require us to disclose this to you directly. Your use of these mapping features is also subject to the Google Maps End User Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
9. Phone Verification (SMS)
Rover Stopover verifies your phone number by sending a one-time passcode by SMS through a third-party messaging provider; a booking cannot be submitted until this step is completed. Message and data rates may apply. By requesting a code, you consent to receive that SMS for verification purposes. This is a one-time transactional message, not a marketing subscription.
10. Passenger Conduct & Responsibilities
You are responsible for carrying valid travel documents (passport, visa where required) and for confirming your own eligibility for the applicable UAE transit arrangements for any tour that leaves the airport's international transit area. You agree to follow the reasonable instructions of tour guides and drivers, and to conduct yourself safely and lawfully during the tour. You must remain reachable throughout your tour and answer calls and messages from your tour guide, and follow their instructions — this is how your safe and timely return to the airport is coordinated, particularly if your onward flight time changes. If we or your driver are unable to reach you, or you take an unreasonable amount of time to respond, and this delay is later shown to have caused a problem with your booking (such as a missed pickup, a shortened tour, or a missed onward flight), you will not be entitled to a refund for the affected part of your booking where we can demonstrate the delay was your responsibility. You agree not to: provide false flight, passenger, or payment information; attempt to interfere with or reverse-engineer the Service; use the Service to book tours you don't intend to take in bad faith; or use any automated system to access the Service outside of its normal user interface. We reserve the right to end a tour early, without refund, if a passenger's conduct endangers themselves, other passengers, staff, or the timely return to the airport, or if a passenger cannot be reached and this puts the timely return to the airport at risk.
11. Assumption of Risk & Travel Insurance
Your tour involves in-person activities, ground transportation, and time spent outside the airport in an unfamiliar environment. While we take reasonable care in selecting tour guides, drivers, and vehicles, travel and outdoor activity carry inherent risks — including road traffic, weather, and physical activity — that cannot be entirely eliminated. By booking a tour, you acknowledge and accept these inherent risks. We recommend that you hold valid travel insurance covering your layover activities before your tour begins.
12. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, and software making up the Service (excluding third-party content such as Google Maps data, which remains the property of its respective owner) is owned by Rover Stopover or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, resell, or redistribute it without our prior written consent.
13. Third-Party Links
The Service may link to third-party websites, social media pages, or messaging contacts (for example, government or tourism information pages, or our own social/WhatsApp channels) for your convenience. Rover Stopover does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices of any third-party site or service linked from the Service.
14. Account Deletion & Data Retention
You may request account deletion at any time from your dashboard. When you do:
- Your account is deactivated immediately — you will not be able to log in.
- For up to 30 days afterward, your deletion can still be reversed by contacting support, in case the request was made in error.
- After that 30-day window, your personal information (name, contact details) is anonymized in our systems.
- Records tied to completed bookings, payments, and legal/consent history are retained afterward for a longer period where required for accounting, tax, dispute, or legal purposes, before final deletion.
15. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rover Stopover's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the booking giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost connections or related travel costs caused by circumstances outside our control, third-party provider outages, or inaccuracies in flight-tracking, mapping, or route data, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law or where Section 7 (missed onward flights caused by our own tour execution) applies.
16. Force Majeure
Rover Stopover is not liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where that failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, government action, public health emergencies, strikes, or widespread failures of third-party infrastructure the Service depends on.
17. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the booking or refund process.
18. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, without requiring your consent.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
20. Entire Agreement; No Waiver
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Rover Stopover regarding the Service, and supersede any prior agreements or representations, whether written or oral. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
21. Notices
We may provide notices to you using the email address or phone number on your account, or by posting a notice within the Service. Notices to Rover Stopover should be sent using the contact details in Section 24.
22. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material ("major") changes require you to re-accept these Terms before continuing to use the Service; minor clarifications will be notified to you but do not require re-acceptance. The current version number is shown at the top of this page.
24. Contact Us
